RHS Show is Blooming with Blas- Full article
Visitors to the Royal Horticultural Society’s Spring Flower Show in Cardiff (April 18-20) will be able to sample a taste of Wales with award-winning Welsh food and drink. For the third year the event will feature the Welsh Assembly Government’s 180 cover ‘Blas’ self-service restaurant where visitors will be able to buy a selection of hot and cold dishes produced from a wide variety of True Taste Award-winning food and drink. The RHS Show is being held in Bute Park next to Cardiff Castle, and located within the Experience Wales pavilion. Experience Wales is a joint initiative between the Welsh Assembly Government and Cardiff Council. The Experience Wales pavilion will feature a wide range of *Welsh food and drink, including many True Taste winners, as well as crafts. There will also be ideas for holidays and days out from Visit Wales. Blas, which is Welsh for ‘taste’, is an initiative to promote award winning food and drink from Wales. Among the dishes available in the Blas restaurant will be True Taste winners such as Ponty Butchers Welsh Black beef steak burger, chicken and ham pie made with Gwaun Valley ham and Oaklands free range chicken, homemade soups such as the Really Welsh Company’s leek and potato cawl with Pantysgawn goat's cheese topping, and a Blas special salad of Edwards of Conwy pork pie, Gwaun Valley ham and Perl Wen cheese. Sandwiches will include Dash shellfish crab, tuna and lime sandwich, Black Mountain smoked chicken wrap, Knobbly Carrot Company’s spicy organic egg mayo with spinach sandwich, in addition a selection of award winning cakes and desserts and hot and cold drinks will be available.
