Producers Promote the True Taste of Wales at Hotelympia

Some of Wales’s best known food and drink producers are heading for London and one of the hospitality industry’s most important events, Hotelympia (17-21 February).  The event has been an integral part of the UK market for almost 75 years.

A number of Welsh companies - among them True Taste award winners - will be exhibiting at the show under the Welsh Assembly Government’s True Taste banner. 
Held at ExCel in London, Hotelympia is one of the world’s leading showcases for new, cutting edge products and innovations, and is an important event for food and drink companies looking to supply the foodservice and hospitality sectors.
 
In addition to its award-winning sausages, The Welsh Sausage Company will be showing its new range of meat balls and launching a new sister company - UK Food Hall. 
UK Food Hall has been formed to supply the public sector with healthy meal options including Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef grills, meat balls, stuffing balls, cooked chicken, and fish.
 
The Fresh Pasta Company will be launching a bumper crop of innovative products at the show. New items will be Smoked Salmon Ravioli, Rocket Ravioli, Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli, Fresh Lasagne Sheets, Basil & Potato Gnocchi and Small Spinach Gnocchi. Also making a first appearance will be handmade pastas: Artichoke Heart Tortelloni, Braised Beef Tortelloni, Wild Mushroom Tortelloni, and Spinach & Ricotta Tortelloni.
 
Pembrokeshire based Princes Gate will be showing its sleek, contemporary glass range of waters, which is particularly suited to the hospitality sector. The company produces still, sparkling and flavoured water in a range of bottles.   While contemporary, the glass range retains all of the quirky brand attributes, but with an edgy, stylish finish. 
 
Sour Cream & Cotswold Wild Garlic is the latest addition to the REAL Chips range made by Newport manufacturer Real Crisps.  The company will be exhibiting these and its natural hand-cooked crisps at Hotelympia, including their new Vegetable Chips which come in two varieties - Mixed Vegetable (carrots, beetroot, parsnip and sweet potato lightly seasoned with sea salt) and Parsnip (seasoned with sea salt and crushed black pepper).
 
Specialist restaurant fine food supplier Vin Sullivan Foods Ltd of Blaenavon in Gwent will have an array of fresh and ambient produce.
In addition to its range of Welsh Lamb, Welsh Black Beef, pork, sea food, gourmet stocks, chutneys, conserves and desserts will be a comprehensive range of British produced charcuterie.
Also on show will be a wide range of Welsh farmhouse cheeses and organic bread.
 
While Trioni Ltd will be spreading some of it’s ‘goodness’ at Hotelympia with its Daioni flavoured organic milk.
The award-winning Pembrokeshire company’s drinks are low in fat with no artificial colours or preservatives, the drinks are available in four flavours - chocolate, strawberry, banana, and cranberry & raspberry.
