Welsh food producers are to showcase their wares to viewers across the UK when TV shopping channel QVC hosts a special True Taste of Wales programme to coincide with the Royal Welsh Show.
Products from five Welsh companies - Clam’s Hand Made Cakes, Harvies Pies, Rhug Estate, the Snowdonia Cheese Company and Welsh Farm Organics - will be featured in the live hour long session at 12.00 on Sunday July 22.
Hosted by QVC presenter Julian Ballantyne and accompanied by food consultant, writer and broadcaster Angela Gray, the promotion has been timed to take place at the start of the annual four-day agricultural event, one of the largest in Europe.
Making its first appearance on the True Taste of Wales Show will be the award-winning organic farm Rhug Estate from Corwen in North Wales. The Snowdonia Cheese Company will launch three new products on the show; Amber Mist, Pickle Power and Ginger Spice.
This will be the third True Taste of Wales Show QVC has broadcast.
Norma Barry, Director of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Food and Market Development Division says “Through QVC Welsh producers once again have the opportunity to reach even more consumers, and in so doing are helping to promote the Welsh food and drink industry as a whole.
“Food shopping is one of the fastest growing areas on QVC, and the previous True Taste of Wales Shows have generated a great deal of interest and enabled some of Wales’s best known producers to introduce their products to a new audience.”
