Full article

Welsh food and drink companies will be joining their European counterparts in Amsterdam later this month (May 27-28) at a specialist trade event.
Held at the RAI Exhibition Centre near the Dutch capital, the PLMA (Private Label Manufacturers Association) exhibition is a dedicated event for food and drink companies and high quality European retail and foodservice buyers looking to source new products and suppliers for own label brands.
Organised by International Business Wales on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Food and Market Development Division, Welsh companies showing their products and services include: Halo Foods Ltd, Radnor Hills Mineral Water Ltd, Evan Rees (Butter) Ltd, The Serious Food Company, and The Real Crisp Company.

Swansea based Evan Rees (Butter) Ltd will be making its first appearance at a trade exhibition in nearly 20 years of trading.
The largest independent butter packer in the UK, Evan Rees supplies branded and own label lines to many major multiples. The company recently undertook a major branding revamp of its Hollybush butter and has just launched a 250g spreadable version - Hollybush Spreadable.

Halo Foods will be exhibiting its product capabilities of healthy and natural snack bars. The company is in the forefront of product development and supplies many household brands and own label products to major high street retailers.
Its diverse range of product and pack type formats incorporate a selection of technically advanced meal replacement options, fruit bars and Fairtrade, many of which can be fully coated, base coated or shoulder coated in chocolate or yoghurt.
Some of the varieties at PLMA include Chunky Cranberry & seed bars dipped in milk chocolate; Apricot, Cranberry, & Blueberry Fruit Bars; Toffee Whip bar dipped in chocolate; Blueberry & Almond Cubes dipped in yoghurt, and Fairtrade Apricot & Mango bars dipped in milk chocolate.

Newport based Real Crisps is the second biggest crisps manufacturer in the UK and makes private label for several high street names, as well as its own brands Real Crisps and REAL. Chips.
The latest edition to the range is veggie chips, available in two varieties - Parsnip chips and Mixed Vegetable Chips, which includes carrots, beetroot, parsnip and sweet potato.
Real Crisps is part of the Tayto Group and the group is able to offer virtually any product type currently available in the market.

Keeping its eye on its carbon footprint is bottled water producer Radnor Hills Mineral Water Ltd.
The Powys company has installed new PET hot-fill technology and tunnel pasteurizers to enable it to produce totally natural drinks with no preservatives.  Likewise it has reduced the amount of PET in its bottles to the minimum feasible.
Radnor Hills, which produces a range of mineral and flavoured water, will be showcasing Aqua 50 a new drink which contains 50% juice and 50% water it is available in three blends, lemon & lime, blackcurrant & apple and white grape & redcurrant.

Making its debut at PLMA is The Serious Food Company. The Llantrisant company will be focusing on its range of smoothies and juices.
SFC are the first UK company to industrially squeeze fresh orange juice and smoothies and are the only company in the world to win the Global Award for Innovation on two occasions. The company supplies all types of juice including freshly squeezed and an extensive and innovative smoothie range.
