Visitors Get A Taste Of Wales At The BBC Good Food Show

Full article

Welsh food companies are heading for London’s Olympia this week to showcase their products at the BBC Good Food Show (16 -18 November).
They will be exhibiting under the Welsh Assembly Government’s True Taste banner at its new-look exhibition stand, and include sweet and savoury products.
First there was fudge, then there were smoothies and cheese, now goats’ milk confectionary company Kid Me Not has further expanded its product range by launching a range of chocolate.
The family-run business from Talley near Llandeilo, which uses milk from its own herd of goats to make all its products, will be revealing its chocolate at the London show. Available in bars as well as in festive shapes, the range will shortly include fresh goats cream champagne truffles in time for Christmas.

Showing its range of single estate extra virgin olive oils will be Bridgend based Ferranti which produces oils from its own ancient olive groves in Catalan, Spain.
The three olive varieties - Sevillenca, Morrut and Farga - are grown by the Ferranti family in their olive groves in the foothills of the Coll de L’Alba Mountain range.
Also at the Show will be almonds, which are harvested from the 300 almond trees which are inter-planted throughout the olive groves. The company also owns several vineyards in the region and will be showcasing its wine at the event.

Award-winning Mid Wales online farm shop Welsh Farm Organics will be exhibiting under the True Taste banner, and will also be featured by QVC at the event.
In addition to its range of products - which includes air dried hams, beef, lamb and pork -  and with Christmas just around the corner, the company will be launching its new Montgomeryshire air cured ham.

In addition a number of Welsh companies will be exhibiting and taking part in filming for the forthcoming ‘A True Taste of Wales’ show on TV shopping channel, QVC.

On the opening day of the show QVC presenter Dale Franklin will meet with producers and customers, footage from which will be incorporated in the special ‘A True Taste of Wales’ show which will be air on QVC at 5pm on Monday, 19 November.

Companies taking part in the filming include: Rhug Estate, Swigr a Sbeis, Cheeses From Wales, Castle Chocolates, Clam’s Cakes Harvies Pies, The Patchwork Traditional Food Company, and Welsh Farm Organics.
